You start to hold yourself more upright and feel more 'zipped up' straight away. It's obvious from the first class that Clare is a great instructor. She explains what you are doing clearly and adapts the exercises for everyone there. The results are immediately obvious. I gained all over muscle tone and strength, abdominal seperation reduced and improved pelvic floor strength.

Is it safe to do Pilates during pregnancy and after birth?

Yes — when guided appropriately. All sessions are specifically designed for your stage of pregnancy or postnatal recovery, with expert adaptations and progressions to ensure you move safely and effectively.

Whether you're in your first trimester, third trimester, newly postnatal, or further along in your recovery, sessions focus on supporting your core, pelvic floor, posture, mobility and overall strength in a way that feels supportive — not overwhelming.

If you have any medical concerns or complications, we always recommend checking with your healthcare provider before starting.

When can I start postnatal Pilates after giving birth?

In most cases, gentle postnatal Pilates can begin once you feel ready and have been cleared by your healthcare provider (often around 6 weeks post-birth, or 8–12 weeks following a C-section).

However, recovery is individual. Whether you’re newly postnatal or months (or years) after birth, sessions meet you exactly where you are — helping you reconnect with your core and pelvic floor, rebuild strength gradually, and restore confidence in your body.

What’s the difference between 1:1 sessions and group classes?

1:1 sessions offer fully personalised support tailored specifically to your body, your goals, and your stage of pregnancy or postnatal recovery. You’ll receive real-time coaching, detailed feedback, and a programme designed entirely around you. These are available online or in person (Brighton area).

Group classes provide expert guidance within a supportive community setting. You’ll receive pregnancy- and postnatal-safe adaptations, plus the motivation and connection of moving alongside other women on a similar journey. Membership options also include live online and on-demand classes for added flexibility.

If you’re managing specific concerns (pelvic floor issues, diastasis recti, pain, or returning after a difficult birth), 1:1 may be especially beneficial.

Do I need any equipment for online sessions?

No specialist equipment is required. All sessions are primarily mat-based and designed to be effective with minimal props. If you have small equipment at home (such as light weights, resistance bands or a Pilates ball), these can be incorporated — but they are never essential.

For in-person 1:1 sessions, reformer-led sessions are available if you own your own equipment locally.

I’m not pregnant yet — can I still join?

Absolutely. Many women join while preparing for pregnancy to build strength, improve pelvic floor function, and create strong movement foundations before conceiving.
